Friday Mar 15, 2024
Friday Mar 15, 2024
We're taking the time-traveling hearse back to the ATL with Randy Turco in tow on an all new Talking Taker! Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on their encyclopedic exploration digging up The Dead Man as they bring their time-traveling correspondent Randy along to revisit a classic WrestleMania match between The Undertaker and Triple H. It's the 15th anniversary of the beginning of Taker's WrestleMania rivalry with DX, and this is the last match of that rivalry that Alex, Travis, and Randy have yet to cover Watch-Along style, so we decided it needed to get done! Along the way we'll discuss more stories of Alex and Travis's experience watching this one in the Georgia Dome, what it was like for Randy watching on PPV, the music edits on Peacock, the chairshots that led to fines, the huge crowd reactions, Triple H's picture-perfect tombstone, the action figure representations of this match, the place it holds in Undertaker's history, the aftereffects of Abdullah The Butcher's restaurant, and of course a comparison to of this match to a Batman movie. Download, enjoy, and Taker Easy!

Friday Mar 01, 2024
For one episode only, Talking Taker becomes SPITTING VENOM! Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White as they take a detour from their encyclopedic exploration digging up The Dead Man as they pay tribute to the icon whose career mirrored The Undertaker's in so many ways, the man called Sting! With The Stinger's retirement match coming up this weekend we look back at his unparalleled career and share some of our favorite memories and moments from his runs through WCW, TNA, WWE, and AEW. Sting was also Travis's gateway into pro wrestling and we reminisce about all the reasons why from the Surfer Sting days to The Crow to the Wolfpack and more. That all leads up to our main event - breaking down the ultimate dream match of both men's careers that we never got - Sting vs. The Undertaker! We discuss all the possible times it would have made sense to happen, why it never worked out, what made fans dream of this match for so long, and both give our fantasy bookings for how it could have played out. We're celebrating the 20 year anniversary of a milestone moment in Alex and Travis's friendship on this month's BACK FROM THE DEAD! Join our cohosts and wrestling buddies as they reminisce about Alex's 18th Birthday gift - an all-expenses paid trip for these best friends to WrestleMania XX! It's not only one of the greatest experiences of our lives as wrestling fans, and not only one of the most important matches of The Undertaker's career, but this just so happened to be a historic episode for our podcast as we hit the 100 episode mark. We had to get together to record episode 100 live, and Alex even invited his parents on to question their sanity in sending a couple of high school kids from a small town in Georgia all the way to New York City. Enjoy this trip back in our time-traveling hearse and be sure to join us March 1st for our next brand new episode covering the greatest "What If?" in The Undertaker's history: The Undertaker vs. Sting!

220: Royal Rumble 1999 Watch-Along
Sunday Dec 31, 2023
Sunday Dec 31, 2023
We're ringing in the new year with the tolling of The Undertaker's bell in yet another Royal Rumble as we look back 25 years to a classic Attitude Era melee on an all new Talking Taker! Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on their encyclopedic exploration digging up The Dead Man as they revisit a Rumble match The Lord Of Darkness didn't technically participate in, but certainly played a major part of as he makes a sacrifice mid-match to strengthen his ever-growing faction. Really it's just an excuse for us to do another Royal Rumble Watch-Along - but it really is an iconic moment and a significant piece of The Undertaker's lore as he takes the former Mabel under his wing and transforms him into Viscera. Of course we'll give you the timestamp to watch along with us but as always it'll be just as fun if you only listen. Along the way we'll discuss some of the greatest fans we've ever seen and all of their head-bobbing and crotch-chopping action, an incredible array of signs in the audience, who wins the worst-dressed Superstar of the match award, sweaty wet shirts, the many active AEW performers in the match including a one-shoed Billy Gunn, the surprising star power of Mabel, Kane's awesome blink and you miss it performance, Chyna's big moment, the big shows WCW and ECW put on around this time, and how well the storytelling between Stone Cold and Mr. McMahon holds up to this day. Plus we look back at a year of Undertaker Sightings in 2023 including his award-winning NXT appearance and his presentation of the Big 12 Championship! Download, enjoy, Happy New Year, and Taker Easy!

Then we move on to November 13 1993 and The Undertaker joining the All Americans Survivor Series team and showing his American pride in an infamous fashion statement! Along the way we'll reminisce about classic Saturday morning wrestling, analyze the announcer's wardrobe choices, make fun of some hilarious enhancement talent, and watch some other squash matches featuring The Steiner Brothers, Ludvig Borga, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Iron Mike Sharpe, and more. Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on their encyclopedic exploration digging up The Dead Man as they do a deep dive on the complete evolution of The Undertaker's Entrance Music! From the Funeral March to the Graveyard Symphony to the Dark Side to American Badass to Rollin' to You're Gonna Pay to Now That You're Dead, we're discussing every piece of music The Undertaker ever walked to the ring to the tune of. We'll discuss Jim Johnston's early inspirations for music for a Dead Man and it's simplistic origins to the many ways it evolved through the 90s into the Ministry Of Darkness. We'll also cover the Biker Taker days and just how cool it was to hear Kid Rock and Limp Bizkit on WWF TV (even though you can't hear them anymore on Peacock). Then we'll discuss the final stages of The Phenom's theme and how it has stood the test of time. Plus we'll cover all sorts of unique one-off entrances as well as some album-only tracks featuring The Undertaker on vocals! BACK FROM THE DEAD: King Of The Ring 2000
Thursday Oct 26, 2023
Thursday Oct 26, 2023
It's the debut of one of The Undertaker's most iconic entrance songs on this month's BACK FROM THE DEAD! Join Alex and Travis as we look at the origins of the "American Badass" song and character for The Undertaker at King Of The Ring 2000. Our next new episode in November is a journey through the history and importance of Taker's entrance music, and there might have been no more important shift in that music than the one to Kid Rock that came rolling in on wheels of fire! This episode covers The Phenom's unbelievable return at Judgment Day 2000 all the way up to a wacky 6 Man Tag main event at KOTR that has the WWF Championship on the line, plus a discussion at what went into the thinking behind the debut of the Biker Taker character and our initial reactions to it when were watching back in the day. Enjoy this trip back in our time-traveling hearse - er, motorcycle that is - and be sure to join us November 1st for The Complete Evolution Of The Undertaker's Entrance Music!
