The Undertaker and Edge continue their rivalry and we continue our podcast through a global pandemic! Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White as they continue their journey (while social distancing, of course) through every Undertaker PPV match and cover a World Heavyweight Title rematch at Backlash 2008 between Taker and Edge. Edge and Vickie Guerrero's romance continues to be a thorn in The Dead Man's side. But it's "that deadly submission" which is truly wreaking havoc across Smackdown. We'll review their match in depth, plus along the way we'll cover The Undertaker's act of respect towards Ric Flair, a rare babyface battle between the Brothers Of Destruction, the formation of La Familia, the debut of Bam Neely (who?), Edge and Vickie's spa day (and Teddy Long being forced to watch), more awesome matches against Batista, Smackdown's new color commentator, another ECW appearance, a poorly timed Kid Rock song, and The Undertaker vs. Festus! The Undertaker goes for 16 and 0 - and we go 2 on 1 with The Dead Man himself! Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on their journey through every Undertaker PPV match as they record a special "live" episode of the show from their hotel in New York discussing one of Taker's greatest WrestleMania matches as he faces Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship. This nearly year-long rivalry comes to a head in epic fashion under the Orlando sky as the main event at one of the most spectacular PPVs the WWE ever produced. We'll.cover the importance of this match for both men's careers and why it holds a special place in our hearts. Plus we'll cover all the build including Edge's peak heel work, a casket match rewind with Mark Henry, more blood from "that unnamed submission", an awesome old school cage match that crosses over with the Ric Flair and Shawn Michaels rivalry, the repeated lie about Edge's "undefeated" streak, another funeral for The Dead Man, and so much more.
Then Alex and Travis recap their whirlwind 24 hour trip to The Big Event in New York to finally meet The Undertaker! After 2 and a half years of podcasting and 30 years of fandom, we got to shake Taker's hand and tell him about our show. It may have only lasted 30 seconds but we made the most of it and we'll tell you all about it, including his incredible response when he found out about the only podcast dedicated solely to his career. We also got a chance to spend a few minutes with friend of the show The Godfather who finally put to rest the story of Undertaker's Survivor Series 2000 pants! The Undertaker tries to win his second Royal Rumble in a row on this week's Talking Taker! Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on their journey through every Undertaker PPV as they kick off another year in the career of The Dead Man with a special Watch-Along of the 2008 Rumble match. Last year The Undertaker won it all from the #30 spot in a classic showdown with Shawn Michaels. This time Taker and HBK kick the match off in epic fashion! We'll give you the time cue on the WWE Network so you can watch it along with our running alternate commentary. But as always we'll keep it entertaining even if you can't watch the match with us. We've got a playdate inside The Dead Man's Playground on this week's Talking Taker! The Undertaker is risen - he is risen indeed!
